Jealousy : Humane yet Annoying

jealousy

Jealousy is an emotion, and the word typically refers to the negative thoughts and feelings of insecurity, fear, and anxiety over an anticipated loss of something of great personal value, particularly in reference to a human connection. Jealousy often consists of a combination of emotions such as anger, resentment, inadequacy, helplessness and disgust. Jealousy is different from envy altough it has similar meaning and this two terms have popularly become synonymous in the English language. Jealousy is specifically used for human relationship. Relationship means every single relationship and not that particular romantic one.

From Western Journal of Communication titled “General partner and relational uncertainty as consequences of another person’s jealousy expression”, jealousy is defined as a protective reaction to a perceived threat to a valued relationship, arising from a situation in which the partner’s involvement with an activity and/or another person is contrary to the jealous person’s definition of their relationship. So jelousy is a respond to a relationship threat.

I’ve felt jealousy. Not only the romantic one but also many kinds of it. Such as, jealousy of parents love, jealousy of friends’ attention toward other person, etc. It made me think that jealousy is a humane yet annoying, no, super annoying thing in this world.
